So you have several images to choose from… You feel overwhelmed. How do you choose what to print and what products to preserve your memories?
This process does not have to be stressful.
In our studio, I have a surprisingly simple way to narrow down your images to your favorites and choose the images that really matter.
Before you think about details, start with….
Emotion
Choose images that make an impact when you look at them, those that bring a smile to your face! This does not always mean a perfectly posed picture. Images that consistently make you happy are worthy of printing as a wall portrait.
Variety
If images are too similar, they make less of an impact. Focus on the people who mean the most. Choose images with a variety of emotions, poses, crops, and groupings. These add visual interest to a wall display or provide for an amazing album collection.
Don’t Focus on Perfection
Okay, if you are one of my clients, you already know that I am aiming for the best possible portrait for you. I am a bit of a perfectionist! LOL But emotion trumps a “perfect” image. A laugh or a genuine expression that makes you feel joy is always a winner and worthy of printing!
Consider Where Your Images Will Live & LIMIT your Selection
I believe that more is not necessarily more. When you limit your selection, I believe you will find more joy from each image.
The products that I have found that work best for printing are:
Wall portraits or wall collections. These are for the favorite images, those that bring the biggest smiles, the most emotion.
Tabletop image collections are a way to display favorites on a shelf.
An album is for all of the rest! You can have a large variety of crops, groupings, and emotions displayed in a beautiful, heirloom album!
You don’t need to necessarily print everything, print the memorable moments you don’t want to forget.
